Lately.

Hey all! It's been about 2 months since I last updated so I figured I should..even though I don't think many people probably read this. *Shrug* whatevs haha.

Soo..in the past two months, I have been enjoying my pretty laid back summer spending time with family, friends, and my amazing boyfriend. In July I worked at Longview Ranch as a camp counselor, and had a really good time. I'm not really a "camp" kind of person, but being with the kids and making a difference in their lives makes it all worth it. Being around the kids made me realize how much I miss being a kid, in some ways, at least. I definitely think when we are kids, we don't realize how easy we have it- we're just so ready for the next thing in life to happen. That made me want to just stop and enjoy the time I have now, at this time in my life. My life now is pretty carefree and fun, I need to realize it more often and enjoy it.

The first week of august all of my family and I went to St. Simons Island in Georgia. This was a change for us because for the past 25 years, my family has been going to Hilton Head, and staying in the same house for the past 20. While it was bittersweet, being somewhere different than we are used to, it was definitely worth it! It was so beautiful, and such a great time to get away for a week to relax and spend time together. My family is so great, and that one week at the beach where we are all together is one of the best weeks of my year.

Now, I'm working my graduate assistantship job at school (which I am so thankful for) and waiting to move into my apartment and start classes. I'm so excited to start grad school, yet hesitant and don't really know what to expect, as far as the work load. Ah well, everything will be good :)

Also, I decided I AM going to start cooking much more this semester. In undergrad, my "cooking" consisted of throwing a piece of chicken on the George Foreman and microwaving some vegetables. That was great and all, but I want to broaden my horizons and prove to myself that I can be a good cook. Lately, browsing recipes is one of my favorite things (especially when I'm at work with nothing to do haha). It helps, too, that I actually have someone to cook for now haha. I'll keep you updated on my cooking adventures :)

Have a wonderful day! :)

Also! You should check out the pioneer woman!!!
Admittedly, her recipes aren't always (or often) very healthy, but she's a lot of fun to read, and I'm sure you could alter them with your health expertise!!
    I love you!!!
